H.H. Princess Abeer Al Saud

Saud Arabia/Arabian Peninsula Leader

H.H. Princess Abeer Al Saud is a cultural expert, explorer, and peacebuilder whose portfolio includes environmental conservation, cultural heritage preservation, and scientific discovery. Abeer serves as the Saudi/Arabian Peninsula Expedition Manager for the Incense Route Expedition and brings rich insight and creativity to the region’s history, playing an important role in linking historical trade routes with today’s exploration efforts.

For more than a decade, Abeer has worked widely throughout the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula region as well as on an international scale in places like Indochina, Nile Basin and Polar regions. She was the first Saudi woman to finish an expedition to Antarctica, which led to her becoming the first Saudi Antarctic Ambassador.

As an international development professional with culture and heritage, peace-building, and NGO expertise, Abeer works with key multilateral/international development organisations and currently chairs the first  Sustainable Development Association, Talga, where her role contributes towards helping localise SDGs to help accomplish Saudi Vision 2030.

As Saudi/Arabian Peninsula Manager for the Incense Route Expedition, Abeer will work collaboratively with local community members and professionals to make sense of ancient trade routes and foster a relationship between the past and the present. Her work will help further the goals of the expedition related to cultural diplomacy and environmental understanding. This engagement with the environment and individuals will add greatly to the expedition narrative, increasing historical, cultural, and environmental insights into the journey.

Abeer is progressing with projects that merge art, science, and sustainability. Beginning in 2025, her 'Incense Peace Cycle' adventure will weave into and around the Incense Route Expedition, capturing images of the people and landscapes of the area, whilst advancing understanding of culture and promoting peace.

Previously she contributed as an advisor to a documentary about the Incense Road, which only adds yet further to her value as an expedition member.
